On April 12, 2025, Save the Tygart Watershed Association participated in the Department of Environmental Protection's Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan (REAP) Make It Shine initiative. Twenty-one volunteers showed up to brave the cold and rain and head out along the Tygart Valley River on Arden Grade Road just outside of Philippi. By the end of the cleanup, we had filled a trailer full of trash, including 25 tires, a mattress and even a couch!
